Another home invasion robbery shocked residents in the quiet neighborhood surrounding Woodland Hills Elementary – because this attack led to murder.
Early Saturday morning three men broke into the home of Aleksandre Modebadze in the 22000 block of De La Osa Street, held him captive and assaulted him. The beating led to a head injury and ultimately his death.
The victim was declared dead at the scene and the incident is being investigated as suspicious. Police found that Modebadze’s surveillance cameras had been removed. The suspects removed undisclosed objects from the home.
The LAPD and FBI were able to track down the suspects and arrest them later that day. Paata Kochyashvili, 38, Zaza Otarashvili, 46, and Besiki Khutsishvili, 52, were all charged with murder, along with a special circumstance allegation of murder during a robbery.
No motive has been given for the attack. There is some supposition that this home invasion was not a random attack as all men appeared to be of Russian descent.
