Car Collector Collects Second Custom Cadi

Boys and their toys!
Las Vegas car collector Robert Blonstein recently bought his second custom car from Cadillac of Calabasas.

Last year Blonstein purchased the  Celestiq, only the second one sold in California. The Celestiq features an owner-designed exterior and interior, custom color and trim and an all-electric 655 horsepower engine.

His newest purchase is the Cadillac CT Blackwing, another curated automobile made for car enthusiasts, according to Jay McKeen, President of Jack Carter Automotive Group, owner of Cadillac of Calabasas.

The Blackwing features a hand-built, 668-horsepower engine, which delivers higher performance. There is increased braking and more sports suspension – and four doors.  “It’s unique to see that kind of power in a four door sedan,” said McKeen.

The curated program is a big step up from the regular CT 5. It gives the buyer a new level of personalization. The car itself and the engine are all Blackwing, but  its curation lets the buyer customize the car.

“They have thousands of choices about the car,” according to  McKeen, including the color, interior and dash. “It’s part of the fun,” he said. “You’re not limited to the standard offering. If you want something crazy you can do that also.”

McKeen should know. He bought a Blackwing for himself and curated it into a version just his own. “Nothing too crazy though,” he laughed.

And for Blonstein, the  Blackwing is practically a bargain.

The Celestiq runs about $400,000. The Blackwing clocks in at just about $200,000.

Cadillac of Calabasas is located at 24400 Calabasas Road. For more information on the Blackwing and the dealership visit cadillacofcalabasas.com.
