The Santa Monica Mountains Fund and Malibu Creek State Park Docents will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Malibu Creek State Park on Saturday, September 26.
An open house with live music, food, drinks and activities will begin at 4:30 pm. Touch fossils with the Natural History Museum, explored trees in the park with the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains and make art with the Santa Monica Nature Journal Club.
At 6::30 pm listen to stories from tribal members, scientists, historians and others about the people and living things of the park.
Then at 8 pm join the Los Angeles Astronomical Society for a star party looking at the night sky and stars above – and cake to celebrate the park’s anniversary.
