Boething Treeland at the edge of Woodland Hills and Hidden Hills is completely gone.
It is being bulldozed and graded to make way for a cemetery from Comparable Property, which operates the Pierce Brothers Memorial Park in Westlake Village, Pierce Brothers Valhalla in North Hollywood and Eternal Valley in Newhall. Though residents objected to the change over to a cemetery, the proposal is not dead yet.
The 32-acre nursery was a fixture for over 73 years, owned by the Boething family. It went through several redevelopment proposals that were rejected by the community and the descendants made the decision to sell to Comparable.
There is no word yet on when the cemetery will be operational.
(With all respect to our beloved deceased but with a nod to Monty Python.)
