Neiman Marcus Doubles Book Donations for Local Youth

Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley is proud to recognize Neiman Marcus Woodland Hills as a Corporate Champion for Literacy.

This year, Neiman Marcus associates collected and donated 211 books to support the Club’s Cooper Literacy Programs — more than doubling their contribution from last year’s gift of 100 books.

This is the second consecutive year Neiman Marcus Woodland Hills has partnered with the Club to help inspire a love of reading among local youth. The books will be distributed to members participating in the Club’s year-round literacy initiatives, providing access to quality reading materials that strengthen academic confidence and imagination.

“We are so grateful to the Neiman Marcus Woodland Hills team for their continued commitment to literacy,” said Geovanny Ragsdale, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley. “Their generosity helps our members discover the joy of reading and build skills that last a lifetime.”

This show of support comes as the Club prepares for its 3rd Annual Cooper Literacy Event on November 13, featuring actor Fred Melamed as the evening’s guest presenter. Community members and businesses are invited to sponsor the event or attend in support of youth literacy programs. More information is available at bgcwv.org/clp2025.

In addition, the Club is gearing up for its 19th Annual Cooper Reading Challenge, aiming to sponsor 260 young readers — 20 from each of the Club’s 13 sites across the West San Fernando Valley. Participants who complete their reading goals will earn a special trip to Barnes & Noble, where they can personally select and purchase a new book valued up to $25.
