Chaos ensued in Woodland Hills Thursday as a drunk driver crashed into several cars on Lenora Drive just north of Ventura Blvd., flipping over one car and sending one man to the hospital.
The Ford Explorer that ran into them took off on three wheels, having lost one in the crash, and fled down Ventura Blvd.
It almost ran into a man in a wheelchair crossing an intersection, causing the man to leap from his mobility scooter to avoid being hit.
A second collision occurred when the Explorer smashed into the front of Leo and Lily restaurant, located at 22420 Ventura Blvd. on a small side street just south of Ventura.
Witnesses said at that point the driver took off on foot, leaving the smoking car stuck in the building. No one was injured in the crash, as the restaurant had just closed at 3 pm.
The unidentified suspect was then seen 90 minutes later at 7-11. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence when he left the 7-11, after purchasing a six-pack of beer.
