A LEGO model of the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing in Agoura Hills has been created by Robert Rock, the lead designer of the actual bridge, and his friend Martin Egemo, a LEGO expert. This LEGO model, consisting of over 2,300 pieces, has been entered into the LEGO Ideas platform with the goal of reaching 10,000 votes for potential mass production.
The model includes wildlife figures, foliage, and vehicles to represent the crossing and its surrounding environment. The real-life Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing is the largest in the world, designed to allow wildlife to safely cross the 101 Freeway and Agoura Road. According to Spectrum News, the model is a tribute to the real-life project, which aims to restore habitats and protect wildlife in the Santa Monica Mountains. The LEGO model is a way to engage children and the public in learning about wildlife conservation and problem-solving.
It features 2,364 parts, several wildlife figures and a handful of vehicles along the freeway. The color palette of the LEGO vegetation represents actual species found in the Santa Monica Mountains.
