The San Fernando Valley Youth Chorus (SFVYC) invites young singers ages two to 18 to join its 2024-2025 season of choral music which begins with an invitation to its First Rehearsal and Open House on Saturday, September 7, from 9 to 11 am, at 22700 Sherman Way in West Hills.
Established in 1992, SFVYC provides music education and performance experiences through its different choirs. The Concert Choir, guided by Artistic Director Marisa Bradfield, rehearses on Saturdays from 9 to 11 am for grades four through 12. The Kinder Choir, for kindergarten to grade three, and its Mini-Maestros, an interactive group music class for ages two to four, meet with SFVYC Teacher Marla Lowrey from 11 to 12 and 10 to 10:45 am respectively.
Participants gain skills in music reading, perform in community concerts, and engage in fun choir activities. Tuition is just $50 a month for the Concert Choir and $40 a month for the Kinder Choir and Mini Maestros. Discounts are offered for siblings and financial aid is available.
“I am thrilled to have another season with the Chorus, looking forward to growing young singers into confidently sharing their talents through weekly rehearsals and the many performances we’ll be engaging in throughout the season,” says Marisa Bradfield, SFVYC Artistic Director.
The Chorus kick-off day which includes its First Rehearsal and an Open House will provide an opportunity to meet the organization’s dedicated team of talented music instructors, while offering a chance for additional information about all three choirs’ upcoming season. Additionally, some light refreshments will be served.
