Earth Day is an annual event to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held in 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by Earthday.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. The official theme for 2024 is “Planet vs. Plastics.”
The City of Calabasas Earth Day Celebration and Green Expo will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Las Virgenes Creek site, south of Agoura Road in Calabasas.
Over 50 exhibitors from all over Los Angeles
County and Ventura County will be participating in the
event to help participants take actions that will save
them money through efficiency while protecting our planet. The festival is free of charge and the Calabasas Earth Day event will have something of interest for everyone. The festival will also feature numerous children’s activities to teach kids about the environment while they have fun.
Calabasas Earth Day/Green Expo was created to be a day of education, celebration, and action for the natural world in which we live. It sets a clear example for people and businesses how simple lifestyle changes can make a difference.
A large turnout of Calabasas residents are expected for this event; more than 2,000 people visited the last year’s Earth Day Celebration/Green Expo. This is a great opportunity to educate the public on benefits of being “green,” on sustainability, energy conservation, and ways they can help the environment.

The 11th annual “Mother Earth, Handle With Care” free community event will be
held at the Tarzana Recreation Center on Saturday, April 27 from 10 am to 2 pm.
The free event features family fun for all, including climb and bounce activities, a critter squad, face painting, arts and crafts, tree giveaways and seed planting, performances and entertainment, LAPD and LAFD officers and local elected officials.
There will be food trucks and exhibits from such vendors as the Los Angeles Conservation Corps, LA Sanitation, LADWP, Santa Monica Mountains Fund and the Sustainability Professionals Network of the West Valley Warner Center Chamber of Commerce.
There will be over 1,000 color Earth Day art posters on display from local valley schools. Each school will receive a $250 art grant.
The event is sponsored by Councilmember Bob Blumenfield, the Tarzana Neighborhood Council, the West Valley Warner Center Chamber and the City of Los Angeles.

The 26th annual “Family Fun Day” will be held Saturday, April 13, from 10 am to 1 pm. The free event includes games, face/hair painting, hands-on activities, a reptile exhibit, obstacle course,
infant play area, free fruits and vegetables, free books for each child and more.

and will be held at Woodley Park, at 6350 Woodley Ave.

LADWP will host an Earth Day Open House at the Chatsworth Nature Preserve on Saturday, April 27, from 10 am to 2 pm. The free event at the Chatsworth Nature Preserve will feature an opening ceremony with a Native American blessing, guided nature hikes, storytelling, live animal exhibits, food trucks and an environmental and community resource fair.
