Jury selection began Tuesday in the trial of Hidden Hills resident Rebecca Grossman, charged with murder, vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run driving, resulting in the deaths of Mark and Jacob Iskander. The two young boys were killed when Grossman’s car hit them in a Westlake Village crosswalk in December, 2020. Prosecutors allege that Grossman was speeding along Triunfo Canyon Road and did not stop after striking the boys. Her car stopped a quarter mile away when the engine failed after the accident. Superior Court Judge Joseph Brandolino expects the trial to run six weeks. More than a dozen potential jurors were excused, claiming the long trial would be a hardship. More potential jurors were given detailed questionnaires to fill out and return to the Van Nuys Court next Tuesday for questioning. Grossman was released on $2 million bail amid protests that she remain in jail.
