A rally in support of Israel is planned in Calabasas for October 7, the one-year anniversary of the Hamas attack. The evening of solidarity for all faiths and backgrounds will include a mix of speakers, including several rabbis, a former Israeli Defense Forces soldier, a local priest, The Commons owner Rick Caruso, a UCLA student and a Las Virgenes Unified School District board member. Calabasas City Council members David Shapiro and Alicia Weintraub are organizing the event, similar to one they produced last October. This is not an official city event but rather a community-based effort. Their 2023 event brought together over 1,000 people. The rally will be held outside Calabasas City Hall at 5:30 pm amid heavy security.
