I’m gnashing my teeth.
When I interviewed Karen Bass three weeks ago she told me the goal for her first term was to get homeless off the street, and for her second term get them services.
Mental health counseling, addiction services, housing.
Not teeth.
Her latest grand plan is to give meth addicts new teeth, because “you can’t succeed without teeth.”
Here’s news for you Karen. You can’t succeed as a meth addict.
In the meantime, Los Angeles is again burning and we don’t have enough firefighters to handle it.
I bought her song and dance about the proposition in the fall that would provide more funding for firefighters, but the truth is Los Angeles is such a shit show that in 2018 we didn’t have enough firefighters and we still don’t today.
The Woolsey Fire ripped through my yard and the only thing that saved my house was a neighbor who hooked up every hose in the cul-de-sac.
The fire department never showed up – and I’m sure they won’t this time if the Sandy Fire crosses Chesebro Canyon.
So once again I’m packed to evacuate and glued to the TV watching L.A. burn.
But this time the mayor wants to spend money to make sure meth addicts aren’t cured, just that they can smile nicely when panhandling.
As far as I’m concerned, Karen Bass is just blowin’ smoke.
