A drone video recently released by Caltrans shows that the Annenberg Wildlife Crossing Bridge is taking shape.
The bridge’s deck is fully paved over all lanes of the freeway and construction workers are now focusing on erecting concrete sound walls on either side.
The bridge is designed to help local wildlife, especially mountain lions, cross the 101 Freeway safely to migrate, hunt and breed.
When built, the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing will be the largest wildlife corridor in the world and will restore habitats and an ecosystem that over time has been degraded by human development. Anticipated opening is early 2026.
