Valley Cultural Foundation has announced that the entertainment for their July 4 Extravaganza will be Angela O’Neill and the Outrageous8.

The notorious jazz band, which has had many successful records, will play at Warner Park this July 4.

With a background in classical music, playing oboe, flute and sax, O’Neill’s roots are from a small town in the Napa Valley, growing up in a musical family.

Since 2014, O’Neill and Team Outrageous have been playing all over California. They met and got together when performing in big bands in Los Angeles, and decided to put a small group together to honor a contemporary jazzy big band sound.

The Outrageous 8 are Angela O’Neill, bandleader and on vocals; Sam Morgan, Musical Director and tenor, Ron Cyber, alto, Richard Walker, baritone, Paul Litteral, trumpet and flugel, Chip Tingle, trombone, Bill Bondine, bass, Steve Pemberton, drums, Rockey Davis, keyboards and arranger, Jackie Gibson, vocalist and Al Timss vocalist.

They have produced and released a number of very successful records, and done well on the jazz and big band charts. Their first album, 2016’s “Angela O’Neill and the Outrageous8 – Live at the VFW,” was a collaborative album with her band including unique and custom arrangements by Harry Smallenburg.

The Bob Blumenfield July 4 Extravaganza offers one of the most spectacular fireworks displays in Southern California. The event features a free concert and 20-minutes spectacular fireworks show.

There are over 15 local restaurants on hand along with arts and crafts vendors and local businesses promoting and selling their goods.

Over 20,000 people come to the park for the evening, which runs from 5:30 to 9:30 pm.
