Westfield’s will introduce the newest addition to its $250 million renovation Monday, May 8, with the opening of Topanga Social, a chef-driven food hall.
The 50,000-square-foot space sits on the old Sears location, with entrances from both inside the mall and outside from the parking lot fronting Victory Blvd.
The dining destination, pre- or post movie venue or gathering space offers 25 specialty food outlets and three bars.
Enter from Victory through the Margarita Garden with its large patio and indoor/outdoor bar. The large seating area will host live music this summer as well.
There is also access from AMC Theatres upstairs via a metal spiral staircase, and from the main mall as well. Above Topanga Social are more luxury retailers opening soon, including Hermes, Dior and Valentino.
Inside Topanga Social is a modern space with cement floors, high open ceilings and bespoke metal and wood tables and chairs.
Curated artwork decorates the space throughout, including the Instagram station and large restrooms.
Each food and drink venue has their own decorated space integrating the wood and metal theme. All outlets are serviced by one central kitchen, and ordering from any of the outlets – for all the outlets – can be done on a computer screen at each station. Online ordering, pick-up and delivery will be available.
The new culinary venues are Amboy Quality Burgers, Burrata House, a candy shop from candystore.com, Dtown Pizza, Dumpling Monster, Fat Sal’s, Hey Hey Boba, I Love MIcheladas, Jay Bird’s Chicken, Katsu Sando, Mad Lab Coffee, Maneatingplant, Mini Kabob, Oakberry, Pearl Champagne Bar, Poke Me, Primo’s Donuts, Rock & Reilly’s, Temaki by Seaweed Handroll Bar, Shrimp Daddy, Slab BBQ, The Pie Room, Truffle Brothers Market and Wanderlust Creamery.
A “speakeasy” style secret arcade will open soon.
Topanga Social is a partnership between Westfield and Earl Enterprises. Robert Earl, who founded Planet Hollywood, Buca di Beppo and Virtual Dining Concepts, told Forbes he was drawn to Westfield Topanga because of its “amazing collection of luxury fashion retail,” its new ‘state-of-the-art’ AMC/IMAX theater and a footprint that allows Topanga Social to have a street-level entrance and also upstairs valet parking.”
