As of April 7, anyone in Los Angeles can now be tested for COVID 19. Prior to that date you had to be deemed “vulnerable,” which was 65 and older or having a compromised immune system.
Mayor Eric Garcetti has announced that any resident who has symptoms and wants to be tested can be tested.
You must first register at lacity.org for an appointment. A new testing site – the first in the west valley – has been set up at the old Anthem headquarters in Warner Center at 6097 Canoga Avenue.
The drive-through site is not open to drop-in patients; all visitors must have first registered online. No immigration status is asked when registered or being tested.
Councilman Bob Blumenfield told Valley News Group, “I wanted to make sure we have a COVID-19 testing site in the West
Valley because, until recently, the closest one was Hansen Dam which is unreasonably far for our constituents, especially if they are feeling ill. Widespread testing is key to getting through the pandemic and it needs to be convenient for West Valley residents.
These tests conducted by medical professionals are helping keep people safe, but a negative result is not a get out of jail free card to stop staying home.”
In addition to the city’s testing site in Warner Center, EXER Urgent Care in both West Hills and Calabasas are testing for coronavirus.
If you are a UCLA Health member, the UCLA facility off Agoura Road is now testing.
