Our Voice: Communities for Quality Education, a nonprofit that advocates for high-quality public education, is leading four free clinics in the San Fernando Valley to help recently-graduated high school seniors, and college students fill out and submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and California Dream Act Application (CADAA) forms in time to receive funds for college this fall. Participants will receive a $25 gift card.
The National College Attainment Network (NCAN) says the graduating class of 2023 left $4 billion in untapped Pell Grant funds by not completing the FAFSA. California is the state with the highest amount of financial aid remaining at $493 million.
With the submission deadline quickly approaching on September 3, 2024, students need to know that they can still apply and receive aid in time to attend college this fall.
The in-person clinics will be held on Sunday, August 18, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, Sunday, August 25, 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, Saturday, August 31, 10:30 am to 2:30 pm Sunday, September 1, 10:30 am to 2:30 pm.
They will be held at Birmingham Veterans Hall, 6543 Corbin Avenue in Woodland Hills. There is free parking in front.
