We are proud to announce that Valley News Group was awarded a Google News Initiative grant for our wildfire coverage in the last two issues. The awards were given to independent newspapers through the California Natural Disaster Response Fund managed by the Institute for Nonprofit News. They were given for “service as a news organization and information service, for the reporting, for keeping your neighbors safe with factual information, for accurate maps and photos.”
We continue our coverage of the fires and resources to those affected in this issue, and our hearts go out to all those who lost their homes.
