Valley Economic Alliance Honors “Valley Stars”

The San Fernando Valley’s bright stars took center stage at the 25th Annual Valley of the Stars Awards Gala on April 13.

The 2023 “Stars of the Valley” honorees are above, from left, Bill Allen, past president of The Valley Economic Alliance and recently retired president and CEO of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation, who received the Legacy Award,  Lynette Romero, Emmy Award-winning journalist, received the Media Award, Mission Valley Bank was awarded the Jane and Bert Boeckmann Business Leadership Award with President and CEO Tamara Gurney accepting the honor, and Home Again Los Angeles serving the Valley’s unhoused, with CEO Albert Hernandez accepting the Humanitarian Award.“Since its founding in 1998, the annual gala has fast become one of the most prestigious events of its kind in our region,” said Sonya Blake, CEO and President of The Alliance. “With great pride, we honor individuals and organizations that have helped grow and strengthen our economy, improve the quality of life in our communities, and bring national recognition to the San Fernando Valley.”

The gala was held at The Odyssey in Granada Hills and Mission Valley Bank was the Luminary Sponsor.
