Emmy Award-Winning Comedian & Weathercaster Fritz Coleman will receive the Media Award at The Valley Economic Alliance (The Alliance) 26th Annual Valley of the Stars Awards Gala.

The gala is presented by Bechtel Infrastructure Corporation, April 25, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at Hilton Los Angeles/Universal City.

The Media Award is given to a media figure who contributes to the vitality of the Valley.

Coleman is a five-time Emmy Award-Winning stand-up comedian and former NBC Weathercaster. He’s opened all over the United States for entertainment icons like Ray Charles, Debbie Reynolds, Jay Leno, George Benson, the band America and too many more to mention. He’s made eight appearances on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Jay Leno. He spent 40 years as the main weathercaster for NBC Los Angeles until he retired in 2020.

“I’m so happy to be honored by the Valley Economic Alliance,” says Coleman. “I’ve been aware of their great work for a long time. I’ve been a resident for over 40 years…raised three children and spent nearly my entire career in the San Fernando Valley. This will be a wonderful, full-circle moment for me.”

Over the years, Valley of the Stars has recognized and celebrated exemplary businesses, people, and organizations who positively impact and contribute to the economic vitality of the Valley with icons like Bob Hope, Dick Clark, Betty White and Sally Field. “Fritz Coleman embodies the essence of dedication, humor, and community spirit here in the Valley,” says Sonya Blake, CEO and President of The Alliance. “His unwavering commitment to both informing and uplifting others serves as a beacon of inspiration for all. The Alliance is thrilled to honor him with this well-deserved recognition!”
