Local business and community leader Tim Gaspar has announced his candidacy for Los Angeles City Council District 3.
He has launched his 2026 campaign to succeed termed-out Councilmember Bob Blumenfield in the West Valley District, which covers Woodland Hills, Tarzana, Reseda, Winnetka and Canoga Park.
With a steadfast commitment to community advocacy and a clear vision for the future, Gaspar’s campaign focuses on delivering results that matter most to CD3 residents.
“The West Valley deserves a council member who has deep roots in our community, a proven record of service, and real world experience needed to address the challenges our City and the Valley faces,” he said. “As a small business owner, lifelong Valley resident, and community leader, I’ll bring a fresh perspective, new ideas, and accountable leadership to City Hall.”
A lifelong resident of the West Valley, Gaspar grew up in Canoga Park, attending local public schools before graduating from El Camino Real High School, Pierce College, and California State University, Northridge.
In 2008, he founded Gaspar Insurance, which, under his leadership, has grown into one of the largest independent insurance firms in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley. Today, the company employs over 60 team members and serves 11,000 clients.
An active and longtime community leader, Gaspar has served on numerous boards for non-profits and service organizations across the Valley. These include the Discovery Cube Los Angeles, Metropolitan YMCA of Los Angeles, Viewpoint School Board, Woodland Hills/Warner Center Chamber of Commerce, and the CSUN Nazarian School of Business.
Applying the same forward-thinking leadership that has driven his business success, he has helped eliminate inefficiencies, raise over $350,000 for non-profit causes, and establish innovative initiatives such as the Timothy Gaspar Entrepreneurship Scholarship at California State University, Northridge.
