They’re back! After a three-year hiatus, the San Fernando Valley tours, brought to you by the team at My Valley Pass, the San Fernando Valley’s #1 Visitors’ guide, returns to shine the spotlight on the local history and sites of the San Fernando Valley.
“It has been great to bring back our popular San Fernando Valley Guided Tours. My Valley Pass has created four unique tours to highlight what makes “The Valley” such a unique part of Southern California. No longer does Hollywood have to be the end of the line when it comes to sharing the rich history of Los Angeles,” said Oscar Urrutia, founder of My Valley Pass.
The San Fernando Valley Film Tour led the comeback on March 12th with My Valley Pass co-founder, Jared Cowan, leading the three-hour tour through-out dozens of the most iconic and hidden filming locations in the area. It is followed by The Sherman Way Film Tour this Saturday, March 18th from 3 pm to 4:15 pm. This walking tour includes several locations for popular films, TV shows, and music videos filmed between Lindley Ave and Reseda Blvd will also be led by Cowan.
“It’s nice to be able to stand in a place, a hallowed place that’s yours for that moment in time that you’re there. It’s an amazing feeling,” shares Cowan about his favorite part of the tour. “I want people to really get a sense of how much film history is here—beyond what they already know…I hope they get a sense of that from the tour. It’s a cool way to see the Valley and get a little more of the Valley’s history but through pop culture.”
Rounding up this comeback on March 26th is the San Fernando Valley Brewery Tour, hosted by Cassie Angel, a former stand-up comedian. This four-hour, 21 and over bus tour visits three breweries in the San Fernando Valley: 8one8 Brewery, Macleod Ale, and San Fernando Brewing.
The San Fernando Valley Restaurant Tour, led by first time tour guide, Kym Dumore, food blogger and founder of Snacks and Slow Jams, will feature four historic restaurants: Cavaretta’s Italian Deli, Horseless Carriage, Los Toros Mexican Restaurant, and Cupid’s Hotdogs/Daglas Drive-In will be returning later in the year.
The San Fernando Valley Bizarre Tour is slated to return in May. This tour visits crime scenes, hauntings, and true oddities around the San Fernando Valley. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart!
These tours aim to promote the San Fernando Valley through highlighting iconic film locations, hidden gems, and sites that are unique to “the Valley.” For more information and to purchase tickets, visit myvalleypass.com.
