Supervisor Horvath’s Emergency Homeless Declaration Passes Board

  • by

The County Board of Supervisors has passed new Supervisor Lindsey Horvath’s motion declaring a local emergency over the homeless crisis in L.A. County. Horvath represents the County’s Third District, which covers much of the San Fernando Valley,  Calabasas, Agoura and Westlake Village. The proclamation directs county departments to facilitate streamlined and accelerated contracting, procurement and hiring to facilitate the necessary operational needs of such an emergency-  accelerating timelines for the creation of licensed beds, interim housing and permanent housing, while also directing service providers and outreach teams to provide accelerated access to County services,   and how to fund them. Horvath has vowed to work with Mayor Bass and regional partners to “give this crisis the attention it deserves.”
