Every Sunday in Woodland Hills, something super happens… something that brings diverse communities together, something that has people from all over the world stopping by in Woodland Hills, something that has turned into more than “just” a car show…This thing is called Supercar Sunday!
Supercar Sunday is a weekly car show that has been hosted in Woodland Hills since the early 2000s. The product of Dustin Troyan’s creative mind, this event many believe could have been the inspiration for “cars and coffee” style car events all over the world. Troyan started the show at the Village Coffee Roaster and, from there the event grew in notoriety and fame. The event has been so successful because it brings the entire community together: hot rods, classic cars, exotic cars, men, women, children, celebrities, politicians – Everyone goes to Supercar Sunday.
From a socio-economic perspective, there might not be anything that better illustrates the diversity of California than Supercar Sunday.
Twenty years later, Supercar Sunday is presented and sponsored by Porsche Woodland Hills and the event happens every Sunday at Pierce College. The second Sunday of every month is a “Porsche Marque Day,” whereby Porsche vehicles are highlighted and Porsche Woodland Hills displays cars with their brand ambassadors ready to answer any questions.General Manager Scott Stanley is always in attendance sharing his Porsche passion with attendees.
What makes Supercar Sunday so much more than just another car show, is community.
From Supercar Sunday, came the Motor4Toys Charitable Foundation, which was started by Troyan, friends and family. Over the course of the last 20 years, Motor4Toys has collected and distributed over $6 million worth of toys to children in need all over Southern California while operating at 100% charity. There are no salaries, it is all from the heart and Porsche Woodland Hills has presented the annual event the last handful of years. But it all happens because of that community. That super motorsport community.
Most recently, Supercar Sunday teamed up with Porsche Woodland Hills and the motorsport community to hold a fundraiser at the car show. In just four hours $120,000 was collected and divided equally between: James Storehouse, Rancho San Antonio Boys Town and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County. 100% of those proceeds went to the three agencies.
