String of Burglaries Hit Valley Within Week

String of Burglaries Hit Valley Within Week

A string of local burglaries continued this week, following a break-in over the weekend at a Sherman Oaks home. On Tuesday at 8:30 pm, officers were called to the 11000 block of Hesby St. in Valley Village after receiving an “alarm activation” call. Later that evening, in the 12000 block of Hatteras St. in Valley Glen at 9:15 pm, a second incident occurred. Then, on Wednesday, a forced entry was reported on Vanscoy Ave. in Valley Glen around 9:30 pm.

Officers have not disclosed what was stolen from each property, but in several of these incidents, the burglars smashed glass windows or doors to gain entry. In regards to the Sherman Oaks burglary over the weekend, the residents returned to their property on Saturday and quickly noticed broken glass. After reviewing security camera footage, they saw a masked individual ransacking the home the night prior. As of press time, no descriptions of the suspects are available and it is unclear if the break-ins are connected.
