As part of its bankruptcy proceedings, Rite Aid has been closing more than 1,000 of its stores. The latest victim is the Rite Aid store, pharmacy and Thrifty Ice Cream counter at Platt Village (Victory Blvd. and Platt Avenue). The store will close completely on August 17. Everything in the store, including fixtures, is on sale. Prescriptions from the pharmacy have been transferred to the CVS on Fallbrook, and the pharmacy was closed as of July 21. Those concerned more about their double scoop can rest easy. Thrifty Ice Cream was sold to Hilrod Holdings as part of the bankruptcy, and the brand will continue to exist.
