Local residents, dignitaries and civic leaders enjoyed a refreshing day at the Las Virgenes Water District’s “Pure Gelato” event last Saturday. All enjoyed gelato made by TIFA Chocolate in Calabasas – using LVMWD’s purified water from their Pure Water Demonstration Facility. The event offered tastings, face painting, carnival games and more. Attendees could take a tour of the Pure Water Project facility which processed and purifies recycled water usually discharged to Malibu Creek. The process takes waste water and turns it into clean, drinkable water.
