Councilmember Bob Blumen-field and Reimagine Ventura Blvd. have released several proposed designs for Phase II of the project to beautify and renew the west end of Ventura Blvd. in Woodland Hills.
Possible improvements include expanded medians between Gomeres Road and Rigoletto Street. The two medians would be 125 feet each with room for trees that would provide shade and reduce speeding. The medians would restrict left turns in and out of some commercial driveways along the boulevard.
Other improvements include upgraded curb ramps and driveways to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Another proposed addition to the boulevard would be a 10-foot steel monument sign for Woodland Hills that could be placed in a median or on a sidewalk.
The goal of Reimagine Ventura is to create a “main street” to support local business with safer sidewalks, more shade trees, neighborhood markers, landscaped medians and more.
The proposed changes were presented to the Woodland Hills Homeowners Organization (WHHO) on July 22.
