Quake Heroes Expos to be Held at CSUN

  • by

The 1994 earthquake shook up the valley, and a Quake Heroes expo at CSUN on February 3 is designed to remember the lessons and losses of that day, and improve safety and resilience today.

The event will feature the inspiring film Quake Heroes, based on true stories. The motivational documentary blends Hollywood storytelling with real-life heroism from January 1994. The film was  created by the Southern California Earthquake Center with support from FEMA and many sponsors to inspire individual and community resilience.

Expo activities include invited heroes from the film, a Safe-T-Proof Quake Cottage mobile earthquake simulator, comments from invited officials, booths for each of the “Seven Steps to Earthquake Safety” where you can sign up for trainings and alerts, purchase discounted disaster supplies, learn life-saving skills and more.

There will also be special exhibits about the Northridge earthquake and opportunities to share your earthquake stories through video, audio and written reports.

There will also be a raffle for preparedness products and other items.

The expo will be held from 10 am to 4 pm. For more information visit quakeheroes.org
