Punitive Damages Awarded in Grossman Civil Trial

A jury ordered Rebecca Grossman to pay punitive damages in the amount of $21 million to the Iskander family for the 2020 fatal hit-and-run crash that killed two of their children. Former Major League Baseball player Scott Erickson, a co-defendant in the civil trial, was ordered to pay $1.17 million. These damages were on top of the $176 million compensatory verdict awarded last week to the family. Grossman is currently serving 15 years to life in state prison for the  deaths of the two boys. The California Supreme Court has declined to review the Court of Appeal decision affirming Grossman’s murder conviction.  The criminal case is now final.
