Ozzie is a one-year-old blue heeler who was rescued from the Coachella Valley shelter where he had been taken in because of abuse. He was found outdoors with a chain embedded in his neck.
He was adopted by a loving family who nursed him back to health but their other dog is not accepting him and has been aggressive. Ozzie is neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. He has a lot of energy and needs a home with a friend and a yard.
He is currently being fostered by Aussie Rescue So.Cal., a 501c3 non-profit based in Woodland Hills. They rescue Aussies and herding dogs and match them with one of their volunteer fosters, and rehab them if necessary. Aussie Rescue takes care of all the dogs’ medical needs. All dogs are neutered before they are adopted.
The vast portion of Aussi Rescue’s operating expenses are covered by tax-deductible donations. They produce a calendar featuring dogs they have re-homed and also sell Aussie wearable merchandise which is featured on their website.
