Old Filmation Site Slated for Development

  • by

The brick building at the corner of Canoga Avenue and Victory once housed the headquarters of Filmation, which produced cartoons such as Space Academy, Jason, Son of Star Command, Ark II, Shazam! , The Ghost Busters and The Secrets of Isis.

The building was shuttered after the 1994 earthquake and has basically remained vacant ever since due to the need for extensive retrofitting. Now however it has been marketed for sale by Emser International LLC as a mixed-use residential complex.

Proposed plans for the site include an eight-story, 100-foot tall building with 275 residential units, 10% of which would be set aside for very low-income housing.

There would be 5,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and underground parking.

No sale has been reported as of presstime.
