A man brandishing a machete attacked another man at the McDonald’s at El Camino Shopping Center on Valley Circle Wednesday night. LAPD was called to the scene and found the suspect on the run. The victim had disarmed the suspect from his machete, but he was still armed with a knife as he ran down the street. He entered the parking lot of the Sagebrush Cantina restaurant from the side, according to a restaurant employee. An LAPD officer entered the restaurant and told employees to lock the doors and shelter in place. The suspect, a white male in his 50’s, was still wielding the knife and was tased several times, then shot by police. CPR was administered at the scene but the suspect later died at a nearby hospital.
