The L.A. City Council has approved Toll Brothers propo-sal to demolish and redevelop the old Filmation building at 6464 Canoga (at Victory).
The building has not been occupied full-time since the 1994 earthquake due to retrofitting costs and issues. It has been leased out as a filming location over the years.
Filmation was an animation studio headquartered in Woodland Hills that closed in 1989.
Toll Brothers development would offer an eight-story building with 276 apartments above 8,600 square feet of ground floor commercial space. It will have parking for 406 vehicles.
It is the first under the Warner Center Specific Plan to use density bonus incentives, and as such, will have 21 very-low income apartments in exchange for incentives and waivers of development standards.
There will be publicly-accessible open space along Victory Blvd. and Canoga Avenue.
It is being designed by AC Martin.
