Another casualty of the Palisades Fire was the closing of Rosenthal’s wine tasting room on PCH in Malibu. But fans of the vintner can visit Rosenthal Malibu Estate, right off Kanan in the Malibu Hills.
Nestled far back in a canyon under towering oaks, the winery is housed in an old stable the family used in years past. You can sip and savor on the patio listening to live music while enjoying a flight, or a glass of wine or bubbly.
Regular flights include two whites and two reds, but you can mix and match to your own taste.

The gorgeous property spans 300 acres, with 30 acres under growth. The Rosenthal blends are made with grapes grown right at the estate, while the Surfrider blends also use purchased grapes.
Rosenthal offers a selection of whites and sparkling, plus reds, rosé and orange.
The Rosenthal crafted wines include the 2022 “G Collection” Chardonnay and 2020 “G Collection” Cabernet Sauvignon, owner George Rosenthal’s own blends.
There are four chardonnays to choose from at a tasting, two viogniers, and six sparkling.
Our tasting started with the 2023 Surfrider Hang Ten Rosé, which paired well with our charcuterie box of nibbles.
Reds include a merlot, pinto, and several cabernets, plus a “G Collection” petit verdot.
For those who want something sweeter Rosenthal offers a 2020 late harvest sauvignon blanc or the Surfrider “Big Chill” blend of zinfandel, merlot, syrah and petit syrah.
