After strong opposition from North Valley residents three years ago, Metro has unveiled a new rapid transit line that will run on Roscoe Blvd. between Lankershim and Topanga, instead of on Nordhoff. They plan to add bus-only lanes to Roscoe, which will be bus exclusive from 7 to 10 am weekdays. One goal is to make better connections to existing and future bus rapid transit and light-rail lines, and to shorten wait times between bus arrivals from 15 minutes to 10. Metro will also add new bus shelters, and new buses with front and rear entrances to speed up boarding. The new plan will go before the Metro board this fall. Two in-person community meetings are scheduled to review the plan: Saturday, June 18, 10 am at Panorama High School Auditorium, and Tuesday June 21, at 6 pm at CSUN’s Orchard Conference Center.
