Attorney and community leader Mark Levinson will receive the Calabasas Chamber’s “Spirit of Calabasas” award, given to a Chamber member to reflect their pioneering spirit, initiative, and outstanding contributions to the community. Levinson is currently chairman of the chamber board. He will be honored at the chamber installation January 31.
He is a family law attorney and active in numerous chambers and non-profit organizations across. He was given the prestigious Fernando Award for volunteerism in 2015. Levinson is a board member for the Valley Family Center in San Fernando, which provides individual, couple and family therapy, coordinated services for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic violence and parenting education. He is also a board member of the Child Development Institute, which provides relationship-based early intervention and therapeutic services to children and their families. Levinson has also served as president of Yes ICAN, the International Child Abuse Network that aims to break the silence and cycle of abuse, while chairing its largest annual fundraiser, “Strike Against Child Abuse.” He has also volunteered for a number of other organizations, including Grandparents as Parents, the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and the West Valley YMCA.
