
Nicolas Montano, right, has been named a “Valley Hero” awardee by the Fernando Award Foundation. The award honors those that have long served in volunteer leadership positions. Montano was nominated for the honor by the Chatsworth Kiwanis Club.
Montano is the owner of Los Toros Mexican Restaurant in Chatsworth. He is past president of the Chatsworth Kiwanis and has led many fundraising activities for the club, including sponsoring their annual golf tournament. He is also a board member of the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council and a Director of the Chatsworth/Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce.
Montana is retired from the US Army where he served active duty in Iraq. He has said that, “Community Service is my passion. Giving back to my community that has given me so much is a real privilege. Serving my country is my honor.”
