A jury on Wednesday awarded $176 million in damages to the Iskander family. They found Rebecca Grossman and Scott Erickson negligent in the death of two Iskander children who were killed in a hit-and-run crash in 2020 involving Grossman and Erickson. The jury also found the two acted with malice and the trial will continue to decide on punitive damages. Grossman was convicted of two felony counts of murder, two felony counts of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and one felony count of hit-and-run driving resulting in death and is serving 15 years to life in state prison. Erickson was accused of racing Grossman before the accident but avoided criminal charges by agreeing to film a public service announcement about safe driving. Dr Peter Grossman, Rebecca’s husband, was also found liable for the damages as owner of the vehicle.
