Judge Sets Dates for Calabasas Landfill Hearings

  • by

At a hearing today on the City of Calabasas’ lawsuit over debris disposal at the Calabasas Landfill, Judge Stephen Goorvitch set all hearings in the future, which means the Calabasas Landfill will continue to be used for dumping of fire debris. Also per the County Board of Supervisors decision last week, there will be expanded hours, expanded tonnage per day, and the ability of the landfill to take debris from all across the county. May 2 will be the hearing on the County’s demurrer to the lawsuit, seeking an immediate dismissal; June 2 is the deadline for the City  to file its motion for a preliminary injunction, which would stop the dumping until the case runs its course, and June 27 is the hearing on the preliminary injunction.
