Jeff Bornstein’s West Valley Alliance for Optimal Living has reached a settlement with the City of Los Angeles in its fight against a proposed In-N-Out on Ventura Blvd. The non-profit had sued the city saying that they approved the project without studying the effects of traffic, noise and water quality on neighboring residents. The City’s Planning and Land Use Management Committee had ruled that the project was exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requirements. The alliance argued that In-N-Out proposed for 22822 Ventura (the old Bank of America building west of Fallbrook) did not qualify for the CEQA exception because of the significant traffic it would generate. No terms of the settlement were disclosed and it is unknown if In-N-Out will proceed with the project.
