A homeless man who is known to merchants in Calabasas went on a rampage Monday morning and trashed the Coffee Bean in the Courtyard at the Commons.
According to witnesses he threw everything off the shelves and went behind the counter to throw food and merchandise on the floor.
According to Lost Hills Sheriff’s Lt. Zeko, the suspect was a Black male wearing dark clothing who entered the business, refused to leave, threatened the four female staff members and then proceeded to cause over $700 worth of damage. Coffee Bean was forced to close Monday morning to clean up the mess.
Zeko said that the Sheriff’s Department was called and the man was arrested and booked at the Lost Hills Station for trespassing and vandalism. At presstime Zeko said that it appeared he was still in custody though the Sheriff’s blotter indicated he would be released Thursday on his own recognizance.
