First Summer Concert in the Park Brings Linda and Friends

  • by

Valley Cultural Foundation will kick off the summer concert season on Sunday, June 16, with Linda and Friends, playing the live rock ‘n roll that shaped and inspired a generation, including the best hits by Linda Ronstadt and more.

Just minutes above the infamous Sunset Strip’s rock clubs lies the rural retreat of Laurel Canyon, where young musicians and songwriters regularly banded together to create some of the best vintage rock ‘n roll hits ever produced.

With 21 singles in the Top 40 and 10 in the Top 10 Rock charts, not to mention #1 hits, Linda Ronstadt was a key member of this hippie crew, and regularly collaborated with the likes of Don Henley and Glenn Frey (their band was her back-up band before they morphed into The Eagles), Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Stephen Stills, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, et al… This group of creatives inspired an entire generation of future rock musicians, songwriters, and fans – all over the world.

The Linda and Friends band is made up of top Los Angeles recording artists, performers and composers who have recorded and performed with rock ‘n roll royalty, not to mention performances on TV, film scores, and on stages around the world.

The concert will start at 5:30 pm at Warner Park with emerging artists The Rayford Brothers opening the show.

Concerts continue every Sunday (except Sunday, July 7). On Thursday, July 4, Valley Cultural Foundation will present Councilmember Bob Blumenfield’s July 4 Extravaganza, featuring Amgela O’Neill and The Outrageous8.

Warner Park is located at Topanga Canyon Blvd. and Califa Street in Woodland Hills. There is paid parking in the adjacent structures, and food trucks in the park, as well as local vendors and business booths. For a complete concert schedule visit
