
Fireworks will light up the sky across the valley this coming Monday, July 4.
Fireworks shows are planned in numerous locations, and some can be seen from outside the host venue, some require ticketing, but all will celebrate our nation’s freedom with spectacular shows.
Shepherd Church in Porter Ranch will celebrate our nation’s independence with a fireworks show beginning at 9 pm. No tailgating is permitted. The church is located at 19700 Rinaldi Street.

The Kiwanis Cub of Simi Valley along with the City of Sim Valley and Rancho Simi Recreation will be putting on a “Star-Spangled Rock ‘n Country Jam” early celebration on Saturday, July 2. There will be an evening fireworks show, but the entire day will be devoted to family fun, with nonstop entertainment, a large dance floor, food, beer and wine, shopping and a free Fun Zone.
Gates open at noon. The stage lineup is as follows: 12:15 pm: FamDamly, 1:45 pm: Jimi Nelson Band, 3:15 pm: 805 Social Club, 5 pm: Fantastic Diamond and 7 pm: Justin Honsinger.
The event will be held at Rancho Santa Susana Community Park, 5005 E. Los Angeles Avenue. Admission is free; there is limited onsite parking for $20.

One of the largest events in the valley is the Valley Cultural Foundation’s annual “4th of July Extravaganza” on July 4.With one of the most spectacular fireworks displays in Southern California, Bob Blumenfield’s July 4th Extravaganza delights over 60,000 people with a free concert and 20-minute spectacular fireworks display. There are over 15 local restaurants on hand along with arts and crafts vendors and local businesses promoting and selling their goods.
Festivities begin at 6 pm with a concert featuring The Convertibles. Powered by a rock-solid rhythm section, a phat six-piece horn section, and dynamic vocals, these twelve talented musicians put their original “flavor” on the music you love. Imagine a John Legend ballad with sweeping horn lines, or Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze” with a screaming sax and guitar duel.
