Dump trucks can no longer park in Calabasas.
This past weekend, the City of Calabasas posted new signs at key locations across town, noticing the recently-enacted municipal resolution prohibiting the parking of dump trucks along any public streets. Yesterday, they began citing and fining any dump trucks parked in violation of the resolution. This will continue on a daily basis, as needed, until the problem ends. It is bad enough that we must endure the constant flow of hundreds of dump trucks passing through our City daily to take fire debris to the Calabasas Landfill. We do not need the further insult of having them parked along our streets night and day.
Meanwhile, the hearing on the County’s Demurrer (motion to dismiss) the City’s legal attempts to stop the deposit of fire debris into the Landfill (City of Calabasas v. County of Los Angeles, et al.) will proceed on May 2nd in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
