The United Chambers of Commerce held their District Attorney Candidate Forum on February 13. The forum was well-attended by local residents and community leaders. However, one major player was missing.
Current Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon was a no-show in the slew of candidates who took to the stage to discuss their goals for the office should they win. Many comments were about how Gascon has failed in the job.Audience response was mixed. Debra Archuleta, Jonathan Hatami, Maria Ramirez and John McKinney appeared to have been most well-received, based on the audience reaction. Dan Kepelvitz stirred up the crowd and actually was booed several times. Security was tight at Shepherd Church where the meeting was held.
