Culture Clash Comes to The Soraya

  • by

The iconoclastic Chicano performance troupe Culture Clash will perform at The Soraya on Saturday, May 4, at 8 pm.

The group returns to the theatre with an all-new show that serves up an explosive cocktail of humor and satirical outrage.

This eclectic group of California natives has profoundly explored the evolution of LatinX culture on stage and screen for four decades. Culture Clash’s works range from comedic sketches to full-length plays and screenplays, all of which feature political satire and social satire. The group currently is comprised of  writer-comedians Richard Montoya, Ric Salinas, and Herbert Sigüenza. The historic anniversary performance, “May the 40th Be With You,” dares you not to laugh out loud.

The legacy of Culture Clash lives at CSUN both onstage as well as in the University Library Special Collections and Archives, where a significant multi-volume set of their documents and letters live and breathe.

The Soraya, on the campus of CSUN, is  state of the art building which boasts a 1600-seater performance hall equipped with the latest in acoustical system and impressive design features perfect to host theatre, orchestra and dance performances.

For tickets to Culture Clash or a menu of upcoming performances visit thesoraya.org or call (818) 677-3000. The Soraya is located at 18111 Nordhoff Street in Northridge.
