COVID-19 Update: ALL of California is now going under a statewide “stay at home” order.

COVID-19 UPDATE: In the latest press conference:
-Garcetti announced $11 million ‘micro-loan’ program to help small businesses pay bills and employees
-moratorium on commercial real estate leases
-LAUSD is opening 60 Grab and Go centers across LA that will be open from 7 am to 10 am weekdays so students in need can pick up two nutritious meals a day (achieve.lausd.net/resources)
-the City of LA will be receiving 5,000 masks for grocery store workers and 10,000 masks for first responders
-there is no imminent plan to place the city of Los Angeles on lockdown
-above all, remember the importance of social distancing
March 16, 2020:
UPDATE: The city will stop ticketing in areas with parking restrictions during coronavirus crisis and parking fines will freeze for next 60 days.
March 15,2020:
CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: Mayor Garcetti declared that starting at midnight tonight until March 31 (if not extended later or lifted earlier):
-moratorium on evictions/residential rents – commercial tenants still in discussion
-individuals 65 + and those with compromised immune systems are urged to stay home, self quarantine
-closing of bars, nightclubs, in-dining restaurants (to-go, delivery and drive-thru ok)
-gyms, entertainment venues, museums, movie theatres, libraries are closed
-grocery stores, pharmacies and hospitals will remain open
-houses of worship are advised to use discretion
-there is no grocery/food storage – use reason when shopping and do not “panic buy”
-the water from your faucets is clean and safe to drink
Above all: stay calm, check on your senior neighbors, don’t listen to gossip and do your part to not only protect yourself but others from the potential spread of COVID19 by practicing social distancing.
