The proposal to turn the Woodland Hills Country Club site into a housing development with 398 homes has come under scrutiny and criticism from homeowners, elected officials and community groups.
Arrimus Capital and two former members, now owners of the club, have proposed a mix of 175 single-family homes, 126 apartments and 97 affordable housing units.
A group of residents from the Girard Tract surrounding the club are holding a community meeting on Friday, December 12, at 6:30 pm.
The meeting will be held at St. Mel Church’s O’Connor Center, 20870 Ventura Blvd.
Residents are furious that the development is attempting to be fast-tracked under State bill AB 2011, which means there have to be no community meetings or hearing on the proposal development, no environmental review, no community feedback, no traffic study and no emergency evacuation studies.
A huge concern to local residents is that the club grounds are in a high fire risk area with limited ingress and egress in an emergency.
A petition will be circulated at the meeting to demand transparency and communication from the developers about the project.
