The Calabasas Senior Center is celebrating its 7th anniversary on Thursday, June 22, from 1 to 3 pm. The event marks seven successful years since the facility opened in June 2016. Patrons will celebrate by visiting with friends and classmates, touring the center, enjoying refreshments and listening to the music of rock band On Tap. Supervisor Kimberly Post said, “When you walk into the building, you’ll notice that we’re not your grandmother’s senior center! There’s a vibe of active, vibrant men and women, fifty years and better, enjoying classes like tai chi, yoga, watercolor or oil painting, playing bridge, canasta or Mah Jongg. Some people are actively engaged in a singing or theater group, learning about art history or architecture, joining a discussion group about sports or current events, or going on an excursion. There’s something for everyone!” Stop by and take a look at the Calabasas Senior Center in action, pick up the current Premier Recreation Brochure listing all of the classes, and read the monthly newsletter full of exciting choices for the month.
